Sátán Metál compiles previously unreleased demo recordings from 1985–1986 by Hungary’s long-forgotten evil metal cult, Atomic. Much like their contemporaries Dentonator, Angel Reaper, and Tormentor, Atomic delivered a primitive form of first-wave black metal inspired by Bathory and Sodom; music driven more by youthful aggression and rebellious spirit than technical proficiency.
What emerges is an exceptionally raw recording that perfectly captures the untamed energy of mid-1980s Eastern European underground metal. Despite its rough edges, these demos remain surprisingly listenable for devotees of Eastern Bloc Obscurities. The vocals are raspy and youthful, sounding as though the singer had only recently gone through puberty.
